My entry for Unaware-y January (or will be if I can figure out how to upload to the pool)

I've really got to learn how to use an animation program like that one that edgeofthemoon mentioned, doing this by hand is such a pain and it's hard as all get out to get right.

Yay more Unaware-y January! What program did you do this in?

If I may make a few recommendations for the future, you might want to try three things:
1. Dithering (to smoothe out the colors that gifs don't like, I recommend positioned dithering for cell shading or floyd-steinberg dithering for blended colors)
2. Optimization (I'm not sure if you have done it already, the file size already seems smaller than I would expect for a 2400x1900 gif lol, but the pendulum doesn't seem to swing properly due to lagging)
3. Reducing the canvas size (I love big images, but I've been scolded for them numerous times >< plus it kinda detracts when you can't see the whole thing at once on the screen and it really slows down the gif),

I hope that helps! I do these by hand too and I know it's pretty rough >< I might post some of the stuff I've come up with for pendulum animations in the manip tricks thread, as I use them to save time lol

Keep up the good work!

Man, those are some great suggestions. I'm going to need to look up what dithering and cell shading are though. I'm still so new >_>

Yeah, after I think it was the last gif I made, you recommended optimization, and so I've started doing that. I'm still just using GIMP, probably going to try and learn processing the next couple of weeks, more tools is always a good thing

I wasn't sure about the canvas size, as it seemed to work with how big the text was. I also just figured out how to enable the auto-resize feature so that should help with that. I think. It may just be local. On the other hand, yeah, the slowing down and the lack of seeing the full thing on the screen is a pretty big concern. Stuff like this really helps me get better, thank you so much

Sounds good ^^ dithering should be stock in gimp. It's under Image >> Mode >> Indexed I think!

Nice. Yeah the image is a bit large which is causing it to lag a bit. Also I can see a few rough edges where you cut the image out. My way of dealing with that is to use a layer mask to do the cutting out then blur it slightly

The contents good though. Great story (text effects are a nice touch) and I like the pendulum in the eyes.

And yay for more people trying animations! Give me a DM if you've got any questions about processing

Nah, I just enjoy making gifs and I'm trying to 1) Get better at it; 2) Try new things, both of which fit under this
Did the swinging watch to try and tie into the story of the watch still being in the woman's head as a semi-persistant hypnotic effect keeping her mind somewhat suppressed.

Weird good, weird bad, weird poorly constructed? I'd really love some feedback on the story especially as I'm trying to get better, but I need a bit more to work with than weird...

Gee, I certainly wonder how the daughter managed to fall for such a nerd like that in the first place.... <w<

Fantastic work, nice story, and excellent gifwork at that. Thank you for the contribution in further making this a great site.
