Aye, it would have been there without the suit, but.... truth be told overall I really don't like anything after XCution and do my best not to count anything. (Her backstory wasn't one of the things I hate, in fact I like it overall having always been a KenRe fan, but I just don't think it works all that well)

The fullbring saga was stupid too in my opinion. Random powers that were no longer connected to Bleach really. But some parts of the new saga are cool imo. Kenpachi VS Unohana, Mayuri VS Zombies, and the Tsundere-Loli-Angry-Bimbo-Trap Death Squad.

Fair play. I'll admit, I have problems with XCution too, but they're nowhere near as major as with the Quincies. I could go on all day on my issues, but I'll state my two complaints with the KenUno subplot. One, I just don't like the fact that she IS the original Yachiru, not saying she can't have a bloody past or have it connected to Kenpachi, but if I'm honest... I would have had her be Yachiru's daughter/apprentice rather than Yachiru herself. Idk, the idea that Kenpachi wouldn't just confront her about her identity doesn't make sense to me. Two, Retsu seems to actually be dead, and while I did like her acceptance of it & the fight, doesn't mean I have to accept it lying down....
Also, why the fuck is Yachiru's (current) fate in recent chapters ambiguous!? If she's hurt then Kubo isn't waking the morning after it's revealed! *deep breathes* Ok... I'm good now.

Implying any manga that lasts more than 20 tomes isn't becoming stupid sooner or later.
I stoped Bleach shortly after the Aizen arc, and One piece after the CP9, because it was way too long in my opinion. I can't help but feel like things are "forced" when they're extended like this.
Nonetheless, those two series have very hot character after that. But from a story / developpement point of view : Meh.

i agree for bleach : after the aizen arc, it become a little weird
but you miss something with one piece : the marineford arc was really brilliant and now the dressdora arc is simply wonderfull
but i agree too that long manga can really become bad, for me a good manga is like the manga full metal alchemist : 27 tomes, the same story from the beginning to the end, and you get a lot of elements of the global story right in the beginning, you dont need to wait 40 ***** tomes to finally understand the story ( yes, i'm looking at you conan )

Fair points. Though I've never felt that way about the One Piece manga. Yes, it's still too long, but I've never felt it should have ended at any point so far. I know it was planned to be a lot shorter obviously, but we've still never seen an ending point. There's still no point with OP where we can say 'this is where it should've ended'. and for me Oda's writing hasn't faultered in the slightest
However, with Bleach, it's blatant that Kubo planned to end it with Aizen. 'Final' Getsuga Tenshou, anyone? However, like Toriyama with DBZ, he got commissioned for more, but he made the catastrophic mistake of compromising his Aizen ending just so there'd be more to see. Aizen basically turned into a whiny bitch at the end of his run, and in the end it was for naught as XCution felt like a poor excuse to give Ichigo back his powers yet still keep back the mental progress he'd made prior.
So, I agree with you on the sexy characters and Bleach's story.... but for One Piece I'm standing by it. :)
When I first read One Piece, I stopped shortly after the CP9 ended, mainly because I saw how much things where about to keep on going.
A few years laters (quite recently) I read it again and went up to the "2Y" scene (won't spoil anyone here).
Even with perspective, and even without being "pressed" by anything, I felt like things didn't move on. I stopped because I was bored, because the character were far to numerous and ininteresting, and because (that's really subjective, but I can't help it) I find Oda's style to be way to muddled and hard to read (Didn't watch the anim though). So yeah , I won't be able to enjoy it as much as everyone seems to :'( Too bad for me because I loved that manga at the beginnig and up to the Rob Lucci fight.
That being said, when I say "it should have ended with the CP9" I was talking about "serie's length". I know there was nothing in that arc that could have bring the end of the manga. But more that 40 tomes is more than enough to create a long and epic adventure (And I found the ener arc particularly and uselessely long) .
My favorite shonen is Ruroni Kenshin (Samurai X in US) and it's only 20 tomes long. And yet the adventure feels long and complete enough.
