I hate that Pokemon got more anime time than Digimon. I mean, come on, a single season of Digimon has more plot than nearly every Pokemon episode ever.

You're wrong.
A single episode of Digimon, had more plot than an entire Pokemon season.
... Still I prefer Pokemon in general if we don't consider the anime XD

My plan worked perfectly.
The amount of plot contained in each series is irrelevant. Both series were made to sell merchandise. Pokemon is based off a very successful video game franchise and Digimon is based off a digital pet toy. Pokemon moves more merchandise, so it gets more anime. Simple as that.

The reason why Digimon has less anime time than Pokemon in the first place was because there WAS a plot. (A better plot.) So if you actually progress the show, the plot progresses and eventually it ends. But then the thing is that they're shows aimed at a younger audience. Kids don't care about plot (and "plot" =D), they'll keep watching it regardless.

I know that. it just bugs me that it was like that. it'd be better if Digimon got more attention. this isn't really relevant to the topic, but I wish that Kouchi had spirit evolved directly into JagerLoweemon.

I know that, mindwipe. it still bugs me regardless. speaking of merchandise, xros wars never released OmegaShoutmon/OmniShoutmon or ZekeGreymon toys, so it's impossible to get Shoutmon X7

So very true. 'Tis the same logic that continues to give Transformers re-incarnations (seriously, how many different series of that are there now?) Though I wish the Ring Raiders toys had been successful enough to warrant more than five eps... If only for the fact that the name sounds like an anal innuendo.

I resent that accusation. When I was a lad I only watched shows with deep & heavy plot lines, like... Oh, damn, this joke's falling in on itself, all I can remember is the stuff I still think's good... um... I already mentioned Ring Raiders, didn't I? And that kinda had a plot... Curse my nostalgia! What about MASK? That sucked, didn't it? Then why did I just buy the DVD boxset...?
