One of my readers wanted his character smoked. What was I going to do, say no? Split the commission costs with him, and I'll be writing a bit of flash fiction for this scene. Hoping the shorter, simpler writing jumpstarts me to finish the chapter that's taking forever.

Well, it's not like I could split a commission with everyone who reads the story, and Arthek is one of my earliest readers and has become a friend, but I really don't even feel right using the word "fan," even if they do. With a few hundred readers, I'm not even Internet famous; if someone wants to drop me a message, I reply. If someone wants to have their OC drawn in my fic's setting, as long as it generally fits, they've got my blessing. Maybe even my support, if I like the idea enough.
