...I know. I know. If somebody kept trying to write serious fiction when all they'd ever read was translated light novels, after I told them over and over to read actually good books, I'd probably want to kill them too. I feel you.

When I was trying to decide whether or not to post this I started looking for the old WIP thread, found a post where you recommend Vilppu, and opened the PDF lol

I'm confused, why are we talking about Light novels when Fate/Stay Night was a visual novel? of course Fate/Zero and Fate/Apocrypha are light novels but saber in casual clothes isn't in Zero and she's completely absent in Apocrypha

I was making an analogy to writing because I write way more than I draw. Light novels, like anime, are Japanese and less than ideal for beginner writers to emulate. I didn't mean to imply anything about the quality of Fate's writing, although the idea of someone trying to learn to write by emulating Nasu Kinoko is kind of terrifying.

Of course not, some of them are pretty good, but I think you can learn more from Gabriel Garcia Marquez or Toni Morrison than a poorly-translated rendition of Nisio Isin.
