I think you've thinking "real" vs "idealized" ganguro - you don't complain about anime characters having unnatural hair colors & too European a complexion, do you?

No I don't but I've seen better Ganuro's drawn then this, it's kind of shoddy really. I mean SuraKuraAnon does them quite well

Ganguro usually has blonde or white hair to accompany the dark or black skin. Depending on the "intensity". "light" Ganguro has mild to darkly tanned skin, and light blonde hair. "heavy" Ganguro has nearly pitch black skin and white hair.

I 100% agree, I mean, look how the background color covers almost half of the pendulum, and all that white space? The whole thing has a quick-sketch like quality to it... -I- still think its hot, but I won't deny the quality of the art is not the best

are you talking about realistic or fantasy versions? It sounds like you're talking about the 'realistic' versions, because I definitely see a wider variety on the anime 'fantasy' versions
