Sorta comes out of nowhere there, doesn't it? Like, you have the priestess talking, the priestess setting things up, and then it suddenly switches to the snake who just goes very heavy-handed on the hypnosis very quickly, and then it switches back tot he priestess. Or was the whiplash intentional?
Well, A god wouldn't waste much time, Mortals are beneath him. Also, the sudden change WAS intentional. The one being hypnotized really wouldn't expect it. If they had a reason to be scared, they probably wouldn't fall for his tricks. He is still confined to a snake after all.
