Well, they're infected with a virus that causes their minds to deteriorate to the point where all they care about is sex, having sex with them would mean you'd get infected as well.

Yeah, I remember in the OVA for the third game, the protagonist and his love interest are tired of running away and basically go "fuck it, at least the infectees are having a good time" and allow themselves to get infected.
Unfortunately for them, the protagonist's step-sister, who had gone yandere after having been infected and rejected by the protagonist, pops out of nowhere and kills the love interest.
The infectees can get pretty nasty when they get denied sex.
