I've always loved Karma's way of doing mantras. They seem to be repeating but the subjects also have some sort-of awareness to what their actions are and use the mantras to reflect that. Like, the characters above could continue to say "Must take shower/must get nice and clean" but then the mantra is changed without a direct command to change it. He also makes his mantras better by making them more descriptive than the standard "must obey/I am hypnotized".etc.
Yeah, I liken it to sort of like a barely functioning zombie-type intelligence. They function and understand only as much to do what they're compelled to do, or what urges are bouncing around in their empty heads, whether they are put there by someone else who has hypnotized them into easily suggestible morons, or whether it's something they only semi-remember. I even like to think their mantras are to help them move along and not forget. Parroting what they are told, or moaning urges they barely comprehend in their brainless, bubbly blank heads.
They barely retain any common sense, they are incredibly confused by any stimulus around them and don't understand what they're doing, only that they have to do it. They don't have to really worry about anything, what they look like, or be bothered by any concern other than instinct or being fed directions which they blissfully want to do. They simply cannot know any better. I especially love when two or more "adorable idiots" brainlessly bumble around and interact with each other this way.
So yeah, there's something of a bottom-level psychology to it. A flickering spark of soulless zombie intelligence. They're so cute and lovable because they're sooo dumb and so silly.

But I think they can sense that their bodies feel pleasant to each other, and at any time, another instinct might kick in and they might just start going into sexual auto-pilot and humping each other to feel good. ^_^ hehe.

Oh, also just throwing this one out there... They're blushing because while they are too adorably stupid to understand it, they feel naked and exposed and they're also touching and rubbing each other in a sexual way. Sort of like how an erection can be automatic, they are totally embarrassed without the ability to understand.
