Well that's a story hook if I've ever seen one.
Is it, though? They go and fall to worship at the feet of the mysterious obelisks, unless the obelisks had some hidden agenda.

It has an unbelievable amount of potential for expansion. It gives nothing but a starting point that draws you in while leaving so many questions you want answered. The reason why the obelisks suddenly appeared, whatever agenda they have, or who made them are instant mysteries for a story. How people react to them, the mist, and the disappearances gives an origin point that can go in quite a few different directions.
All in all it's an excellent story prompt that gets the imagination going.

Yes, yes, yes, and yes. I'm definitely intrigued by the little snippet of writing in this manip and would definitely want to read more. Like you said, it really does draw you in... as surely as the monoliths do the Lost Ones. :3
