If i remember right akira toriyama said he just could never imagine a female super saiyan.

well, since in super we got one now apparantly(I honestly haven't seen it. last episode I watched Zen-chan from F-Trunks timeline finally finished Zamasu), guess that changed. though given this takes place when Pan's just a baby, maybe we won't see Pan as Super Saiyan. though if you think about it, it could have been making Pan's hair spikey. let's not forget, when Vegeta goes Super Saiyan or Gohan, color aside, not much change from the neck up

I always felt that was crap argument, though. Trunks has super long hair during the whole Cell saga and he went Super Saiyan no problem.

well, in their defense, Pan was the first female saiyan to be seen alive during Goku's time when he's not a baby. and before Super, the only female saiyans shown were killed prior to the events of the show.

Honestly, the root of the problem wasn't that they didn't know how to to make a female Super Saiyan, it's just that they didn't really make any female fighters, period. All of Dragon Ball and DBZ, and the only female fighter worth considering was 18. And she didn't do much after Cell.
