It may be completely counter-intuitive but blue has been a sleepy colour to me for as long as I can remember. No wonder the circadian rhythm doesn't work on me the way it's supposed to :p

Hahaha, as I was in the process of uploading this I realized the same thing!
Thanks for the responses, everybody! I agree, I think the blue version works the best out of all of them, though Jyohan makes a good point about how the tentacle looks in the top left--might integrate some of that contrast and lighting into the finished piece!

Friye, that doesn't seem so odd to me--after all in movies, whenever you see a dark room they always light it blue, so clearly there's some kind of universal association going on here, right?
