Yeah, I confused why ling is gluttony instead of Greed, did the artist just not want Ed to be gluttony?

When making this AU, the artist felt it would be a better fit for him.

Thematically, it can make sense. From Left to Right - Havoc became slothful when he was injured. Alphonse envied people with bodies, Hawkeye was wrathfully protective of others, especially Roy, Mustang possessed pride in both himself, his ambitions, and the people around him to a flaw, Winry (and this is the weakest link in the argument) lusted after automail, and to an extent Ed later on (in a very loose sense of the idea.), Ling Yao was very gluttonous with food, and Ed had a greed for the things he didn't possess or couldn't have. The difference in their characters and the actual homunculi is that each of these characters were able to overcome their flaws or had other virtues. The presence of flaws in their character made them human.
