Long story short, Mei can freeze people in place rather quickly and then put out good damage afterwards. Pretty much only Tanks can survive it, and her Ultimate is an AoE Freeze. People decide to try and 1v1 a Mei and get angry about it. That's about it.

Yup: Mei, with Bastion, Torbjorn and Symmetra, are the ultimate force to take down new players who simply don't know how to deal with them.

Personally if you ask me Mei is one of the best 1v1 heroes. In order to deal with her you need a lot of spike damage.
