After the defeat of Lightning in "Total Drama: Revenge of the Island", he resigned himself to face his own father; disappointed by his failure, his father full of anger and shame, with a great disdain for his own son. Finally, Lightning exploded; in an attack of anger he killed his own father with blows, the anger in his heart mixed with the spilled blood of his father, attracted the attention of "Butcher", the entity that embodies anger. Butcher felt Lightning's anger and hatred and that's why he chose him to be his host. Alice (The current leader of the Red Lantern Corps) has been looking for the entity Butcher, so far no one knows with what intention she so desperately wants to find the entity of anger.
