I love how Delia is so chill with the fact her son now inhabits the body of A) a known criminal, and B) one that's actively hunted her son and his Pokemon for years, putting him in life-threatening situation after life-threatening situation.

Really the main thing i love about this like you said but its just the fact that she's alright that her teenage son is in the body of an adult women.

So, correct me if my question has an easy answer, but I have to wonder.... HAS Delia and Jessie ever met face to face like this?
From what I know, most of Delia's life in the show has been away from Ash, and I don't think I have any reason to believe Ash ever told his mom any of his exploits that involve TR and dealing with them on a regular basis.
I'm sure they probably met at least during one time when Ash is visiting home or something, but if there was some time where they did meet, i'm blanking on it.
And yeah, I can see Delia as the kind of woman who always wished she had a daughter instead. :P So I can see why mom is so keen to play cute dress up with the daughter she never got to have.
(EDIT: LOL, I typed this while Argonis was typing his. I swear I didn't see it, but we ended up saying the exact same thing pretty much. Weird.)

I think TR attacked Ash in Pallet shortly after the Indigo League and before the Orange Islands; it was a celebration for Ash and Delia was (if I recall right) there

Ya Team Rocket has attacked Pallet and Delia has seen Jessie but never any memorable one on one conversations between the two sadly. Delia would be more like "who are they" or "oh that's terrible" about them. Her and Litten did take them on I think in one episode of Alola when she visited though XD
