Given her color and lustre, the hand-holding and the brain injection, I'd guess she's a personification of the Emerald Cockroach Wasp. All that's missing to complete the parallel is the oviposition after a roach is brought back to the nest.

...emerald cockroach wasps sting their victims in the head to shut down their escape reflex. Oviposition occurs to the main body, because there's more room and more food. Eating the brain first would also kill the host, and then the wasp couldn't lead it back to its nest.
