I wonder why on human it simply shrinks their pupils while with Pokemon thier entire eye goes grey. It happens here with Dedenne and it also happens with Pikachu as well.

It's the logic of the new Pokémon anime style to depict hypnosis. Very likely due reducing production costs. I prefer the old style a lot more.
