Most status inflicting non-damage moves ignore type immunities. Thunder Wave is the exception, doing nothing to a creature like Golem. Everything else, like Glare against Gengar and Hypnosis against Umbreon, is fair game. Usually you don't need to care what type these moves are.

As an aside, this is way hot.
