I actually started over a couple of times until I figured out the right technique. In the end, I put Raven's leotard sections onto separate layers and lightened them with the paint bucket to get most of the job done, but there was still quite a bit of cleanup left to do, particularly at the neck (if you zoom waaaaay in, you can see where the original skin meets the skin that used to be a leotard) and sleeve (which I had to partly re-draw, because just making it lighter would still leave it the wrong size). Some of the edges that I didn't cut perfectly also needed a touch-up, and of course, I also had to "complete" the cleavage and add nipples. (I also fixed the color of the gem in her forehead.)
I still have a couple of nitpicks, but I'm generally happy with how it turned out. Not gonna lie, I got a bit of a boner a couple times. Raven tied up in a chair, happily hypnotized, while I take off her leotard and trace over her skin with a paintbrush...whew!
Now that you mention it, I probably should have put her left nipple lower. E: Hmm, playing around with it a bit (heh), it's not that simple...there's also some perspective that isn't working out quite right. Something I'll keep in mind for next time.
