Heh, there's even official Transformers precedent for a computer virus that affects Cybertronians and "reprograms" them, although there it was an evil plot to turn Autobots into Decepticons (and the only time it was actually done as a virus was in an obscure story packed in with a Japanese-exclusive line of small blindpacked toys, but believe it or not that's still canon).

Canon in Japan, but the Western Transformers canon is a very different thing.
