I am still torn on this. First evil is sexy, but on the other hand.....why Aqua!?! She has suffered enough already! But, I am sure Riku will save her. If she is Norted like the Famitsu article said Namora revealed, I think it will be a great way to further Aqua's character, having her given into her regrets over what she was forced to do to her friends which gave Xehanort to chance he needed to take her to his side. Meanwhile, this is a good thing for Riku as it can further his development. He was corrupted and possessed by Ansem in the first game. Now he must save Aqua like Sora saved him. It is a fitting route for both characters, and makes sense for story reasons....but I am so pissed that Aqua has to suffer even more!

TLDR; Aqua falling to the Darkness and being redeemed by Riku will be a parallel to Riku falling to the Darkness and being saved by Sora in the first game. It also subverts Aqua's role with Terra and Ventus from Birth by Sleep. In BbS Aqua was the redeemer, saving Terra from the Darkness. Riku is Terra's counterpart.

Well you totally should. All of them.unlike a certain game reviewer of latin descent who shall not be named. You can get two updated rerelease compilations on playstation that collectively hold all the previous games. Failing that, you can watch walkthroughs.
These previous games are all canon. And required reading
