This is a three part story I did based on a comic script I wrote up but never used for Amaryst. Enjoy!

People don't stay down long when a choke renders them unconscious. Amaryst's best play, especially against a powerful witch, would have been to finish the job. I suspect she'll regret her lack of thoroughness soon enough.

If it makes you feel better, Mellanica got up and Amaryst decked her, knocking her ass out for a while.

Pulling a Marvel/DC, are we? Because seriously, that is exactly the kind of thing they both pull all the time. Well, I have to admire your loyalty towards superhero media.

Comics and superhero media are the only things I have some loyalty to. I fucking adore comics and superheroes. All of my clothing is superhero based. My decorating aesthetic can best be described as "comic nerd."
Also, the whole, "No one really knows about this" thing is more a plot contrivance/way to introduce this ability than anything else.
Actually, if we're talking about "obvious powers in the DC or Marvel universe people don't know about", can we talk about Spider-Man's spider sense? Because that ability's public knowledge shifts from writer to writer. Some writers say the ability's secret, yet that contradicts the multiple times Spider-Man has mentioned this ability. It's kind of irksome.
Sorry about the minor rant, just had to get that out.

LPT: if you just wave your hands around and say 'multiverse' a few times all the plot problems tend to go away
