I've played both, and honestly besides the lootboxes I would say the sequel is a direct upgrade on all fronts. (Though I wish it they struck a slightly bigger balance between op and underpowered)

The problem I have with it is the level system, I am literally using the powers equivalent to sauron to mind break orcs, how is a level system a good idea here?

Orcs that, very frequently, break free of said mind control. Seems like the Ring of Power was more of a downgrade.
