I love how the Coffee Shop ep and the Evil Dentist ep have identical premises with similar results (brainwashed Sam working as a goon), but are handled so differently.
I didn't watch Totally Spies when it aired and tracked down eps for the MC fetish fuel much later, so I watched those two eps back to back. In the coffee shop ep, when Sam goes missing (while snooping alone), Alex and Clover try everything to get her back, and are super concerned about her. Then they need to physically bring evidence back to Jerry to be analysed which takes days and the only discovery is that Sam's mic was scorched by coffee. All the while Alex and Clover want to go and rescue Sam.

In the Dentist ep, Sam is grabbed by a henchwoman and dragged into another room in front of Clover and Alex, and next scene is apparently days later when the pair are mildly concerned and it's revealed that they didn't bother chasing after the kidnapped Sam. When they subdue brainwashed Sam, Jerry is able to deduce the nature of the mind control and synthesize and antidote remotely and immediately. The same guy that needed to physically examine Sam's earpiece for a day to conclude that it was scorched by coffee.
