When I first saw this without subtitles I couldn't tell for myself so I just trusted the people of the Hub. Damn it. This is kind of nerve wrecking because context is kind of all it took to keep me from really enjoying this segment.

Alright, I gonna say it right now....
I believe it was mentioned in the japanese/western animation thread, just that people don't put animations in the posts that much that's all. Also... I thought everybody knew about this ages ago lol =)), I didn't even bother to upload it even thought I have the full subbed episode, turns out it's not huh

I dont know much about Kaleid so I assume this is just a non-canon joke short and not like.. a plot point made into a joke. Funny either way
I mean, it's kinda canon? This is in one of the specials, but we see them as the brainwashed maids in canon. When everyone gets taken to the parallel world with the Ainsworths, Rin and Luvia get captured. Later on, when Illya gets captured (and has her soul put in a bear because the brainwashing isn't working on her), she ends up finding Rin and Luvia as the brainwashed maids.
I'm going to say this special is canon-ish, at least, because I remember Luvia and Rin being somewhat incompetent while hypnotized. Well, except for fighting. But they were terrible with maid stuff/common sense during the actual series, so this special isn't too out of the question.

Not surprising... if the fate series has taught us anything, Magi are terrible at anything that doesn't involve magic or fighting...
