It does mention stimulating endorphin, so I assume the implication is that something in the... nose-needle-snout thing being stuck in the girl is snaking its way up to get to the brain (if it was the manipper who put the brain injection tag there).

For reference, the page for Brain injection says: "Something is directly contacting the brain (usually through the ears) to hypnotize the subject", so it doesn't *technically* have to go in at the head.
