'Yi Lin looked over her shoulder as she stepped forward, and Nikiru smiled to see that she’d followed her suggestions to a tee, the gleaming white circle normally only applied during their meditation sessions present upon her forehead. Initially the symbol was just something for Yi Lin to focus on as she looked in the mirror, a spot to fall into as Nikiru murmured in her ear and guided her as only she could. Now though, that circle looked more like an open window.'

As a recap, this is set in an original universe where people have certain inborn magical 'traits' they can use that often interact with spirits and the spiritual, with the stories following a very strange couple, Nikiru and Yi Lin, and how their relationship ends up changing the world...
