Yeah he does. He just has an 8 ball fracture (which is a real thing, but I wouldn’t recommend looking it up as it’s really gross in real life) from two car accidents, basically pushing his eyeballs back and filling his sockets with blood. The car accidents gave him 2 dents in his head (hence the nickname 2D). He still has eyes and can see, just not very well I guess. But I’m sure he can still be hypnotised. In fact it was mentioned in an interview not too long ago that 2D regularly uses hypnotherapy (and Murdoc apparently takes advantage of this to mess with him). I’m surprised there isn’t more Gorillaz hypnosis stuff out there actually.

Probably to recover from what happened to him on Plastic Beach. I don't even want to think of what that whale might have done...

As for Murdoc, I'm sure he's too busy trying to get out of his deal with the fifth horsemen to have time to brainwash the world...
