Please try not to mass upload like this. Pushes a lot of new uploads off the front page.

Blame the software for not having the checkbox "Shown in index" at the upload page.

Unfortunately Uploaders for pooled content need to uncheck that box this after uploading.

Add the 'hide' tag in the tags section when uploading. It's not that difficult.

Because it's something hidden behind the curtain.

Uploaders who have a gallery to mass upload have to need to know such feature exists and where to find it to not push off other posts.

And because the harm is already done (people get annoyed), even after people could fix it. Your reaction to the uploader is a school example.
