Spoilers for the canon ending to Mortal Kombat 11 follows! Read at your own risk, please!
[spoiler] Upon Fire God Liu Kang's resetting of the timelines, many strange changes happened to the world. A new Liu Kang, a re-powered Raiden... and Shao Kahn, now representing Chaosrealm upon being exiled from Outworld by it's new ruler, Kitana Kahn...
Cassie Cage, one of the three Champions of Earthrealm, after her own father Johnny Cage, and Liu Kang was sent out into the world to investigate new power readings to potentially recruit them into the Special Forces to battle in Mortal Kombat to defend the realm... little did she know the dangers she would encounter.
Cassie arrived in the hot jungle and stumbled upon a woman sitting on a plant throne. Upon investigation, Cassie thought her to be an accidentally revived Cetrion, Cassie in a moment of rage, charged her Shadow Kick, but as she went to attack, she faceplanted to the wet dirt. Vines were wrapped firmly around her legs. In a panic, she tried to fight them off, but they only tightened, more vines ripped apart her clothing, her weapons dropped to the ground as she was lifted. Now face to face with her attacker, she scowled at her.
"What are you doing to me, Cetrion!?" Cassie shouted
"Cetrion? No no darling...I am Poison Ivy...and we shall do something about that attitude of yours when I make you my pet..."
Before Cassie could protest further, the green woman raised her hand and blew white-pink dust in her face...and her brain turned to mush...

The idea for this crossover comes from a couple of the Arcade Endings from MK11 which sets up well...
It basically sets up MK vs Injustice some time in the future. Also, MK vs DCU is apparently canon now... yay.

Hasn't MK vs DCU been confirmed canon for a while, it's technically considered MK8 and its been referenced through dialogue since MK9.
