Oh boy where to start with this.

I work in a market research call centre, so this one actually makes me pretty angry.

Firstly: Staff in those centres are usually under a fair amount of pressure to hit certain targets, so good work on humiliating them when they already likely hate their job.

Secondly: Just... ask to be put on the DNC list. No need to be an ass about it. All you need to do is ask for the company not to call you again, and if they're legit then boom, it's done, that number is filtered out of all future sample.

Thirdly: I think it would be better if he asked "are you doing legitimate research". If she then said "No" then I'd be all for humiliating her. I hate scammers about ten times more than the hypnotist seems to hate people in call centres doing legit work, so that would really work out.

Fourth: You do know that call centres don't actually share their do not call lists among each other, right? I see that misconception a lot, that we all work for the same place or have some general connection. We'll hear people saying "you've called me ten times this week already!" and we *check* our own call records for that number and nope, just that one call. This guy is gonna be doing this for a long, long time and he's not going to get cute babes every single time. At least half the time it's going to be guys. Or women that don't suit his tastes.

Fifth: Why not just make the hypnotic sound the start of his answering machine, then have it immediately go into instructions? "If you're in a call centre, add me to your DNC list. If you're a hot babe, send pics after work." Far more productive and way less spiteful.

Well, he did ask for specific information. Maybe "hot babe" is too subjective.

Just thought of another problem with this. Those calls are recorded. All of them. Not usually kept for long, but... Some companies to spot checks at random of calls, so it's entirely possible that someone other than the interviewer will hear it - and then have to follow the same instructions.

In point of fact this is made all the more likely given the humiliation approach. The interviewer's calls from around that time will probably be listened to in order to check for inappropriate behaviour.

Which means that the hypnotist in this case is extremely likely to get caught out when a random supervisor suddenly does the same thing for no apparent reason. Which could create problems for him, because he had to be spiteful instead of smart.

especially when someone realizes two people do that after listening, so they run it through one of the many speech to text programs out there now, and then discover whats up

because this community is awesome like that. plus you get to learn something about an area of reality you might not think about as often and I can appreciate that. There's also value to be had in having your fantasy be as close to the world you know as can be for some people.. and also for some people, talking real shit about little details in their porn is fun. See also a recent Erika pic where me and like 3 other people go full rules lawyer about a fake magic: the gathering card.

The most mundane aspects if fiction tend to be the most scrutinized. I had a twenty minute conversation once on realism in Pizza commercials in the same vein.

Okay, this is fair.
Honestly, I just wanted to make a silly hypno story about a telemarketer falling victim to someone they called, and I thought it was funny to imagine the hypnotist using it to deter those compagnies. I didn't intend this to be taken seriously at all.

But of course, I can understand feeling annoyed or insulted by this story.
I'm sorry for that, and the added information is appreciated.

I hope you are not too angry at it though, because I still kind of like this one and I wish to keep it here if at all possible.
