Cute.

I still want to get into Shadowrun, there was a lot of talk in a Tabletop server but the rules kind of intimidate me

I think my whole group would agree that the complexity of the rules is the worst part of Shadowrun.
But it kind of depends on your gaming group. We use some house rules and, to be honest, simply ignore some of the most time consuming ones. As a result it all flows a bit easier and because we are all friends who want to have fun and a good story certain imbalances are less important.

But if you find the right kind of people to play I’d say go for it. It can be really awesome. My elven street witch is in the top 5 of all my P&P characters.

One tip: Magical and social characters are far easier for beginners, deckers and riggers can be nightmares.

There is also a less complicated version called Shadowrun Anarchy, but you lose some of the typical shadowrun flavor. It didn’t like it that much, but some people are very happy with it.

Also, this fall the 6th Edition releases. First opinions range from great to rubbish (personally don’t like the changes), but it is sold as a simpler, more modern rule-set.

Thanks for the advice. it was a guy wanting to run a game for the first time.

I think I'll stick to the simpler systems.

I love Mask

Speaking as someone who loves tabletop games - yeah, it's a complex system. Still, if it's mainly the setting that grabs you, the recent PC games do a great job of recreating it - Dragonfall in particular.

Oh, first time GMing Shadowrun is hard.

It's still shadowrun, so I'm sure you'll love it. :)

Mask is a lot of fun. Trid Phantasm Euphoria ... there are so many fun spells. :)

I love dragonfall! Eiger, Glory and Dietrich are awsome characters.

Sorry, I thought you meant the spell "Mask".
Mask A new Generation sounds very cool, I'm just reading up on it.

I wanted to go in as catering staff or IT department but no, cleaners are Less noticeable.
Doesn't matter when 12 janitors are All trying to "clean" the server room at once.
