I've drawn May before in Grunt attire but after the reveal of her new character design and that of the Aqua and Magma teams, it was a no given ChaosOverlordZ would want to see her again.
The idea is that in this timeline, May got the power over Groudon and was consumed by it, joining Team Magma to wield it for the power of the land. But inside she also hungers for the power of Kyogre, wondering what would have happened if she'd attained that power instead as the reflection of the Alpha Sapphire May looked on.
It is a fascinating concept to often think about over how most heroes are able to resist having so much power and not become consumed by it. Its been getting a bit over used in recent years with certain comics and videogames and shows but sometimes you can hit that sweet spot with it and make something really cool from it.
