Well I see I missed out on alot of Detroit Become Human! I might as well make a come back! I love Detroit Become Human its such a amazing story and I hope it'll get a new update soon.

As far as the flag is concerned, Todd being an ass towards Kara and especially his daughter is the reason Kara resists her programming, and the red ring in this GIF signals that what is happening to her is something she is resisting and resulting in the sort of anomalies that allow the androids to become fully independent. So I'd say it definitely is mind control. There is also another part in the game where Kara can get mindwiped and forced to obey her new owner, giving you the "follow your master's orders" objective.
