Fan things aside. This show needed way more work than the Last Jedi. And since this show uses Legends vehicles this show is non-canon believe it or not (Tie-Defender).

Nope, this show is canon to the series, it brought back Intridictors, Thrawn, Rukh, and several other elements from Legends back into canon, though with differences.

Officially it is canon. The show brought things in from Legends that they wanted to make canon.
