Two questions: one, is the manga based on the story or is it a whole other canon? Two, is there more to this canon because, horror or not, this entire universe with demons and the lust virus and Medic Lady seems cool af, albeit something I could see many disliking.

No direct relation to each other, the manga is more of an inspiration. And no, there's not much to this world unfortunately, the author just cannot help but worlbuild.

Can confirm, the extended version is indeed more fucked up shit. Glad its still up for posteritys sake, but I read the story rather than the caption and that was a mistake. Not that it stopped me from reading and finishing.
