eh, she's an adult by her own race's standards. Also she's been through enough shit in her life so she was forced to mature and grow up quickly. So I think her literal age isn't really a problem if she's both physically and mentally an adult.

It was stated in the manga that she is mentally a child.

Yeah but unless its in the Light Novel which is the original source I would question that canonicity.

cannot confirm for sure, but the LN seems to portray her as an adult, but I only picked up the novels that take place after the anime ends soooo

You should go back and read from the very beginning. The Light Novels have a lot more detail then the anime and the anime also went and deviated from the Light Novels starting around when Naofumi got framed and had to protect Princess Melty from her sister and the church.

In fact the anime went and dropped volume 10 content right when volume 5 content ended. Which throws a LOT of things out of whack story wise.

They also changed Naofumi's and Raphtalia's character and threw off their character development.
