It could be worse, consider what the DiC dub did with both Usagi and Mamoru's names: They collapsed their 'modern' names with their 'royal' names resulting in lines like "I'm not Darien, I'm Prince Darien," when Mamoru had his modern memories blocked.

And let us not forget that Usagi's daughter is also named Usagi, (that's why almost everyone calls her Chibi-Usa).
