No, you're getting the joke wrong. Deku's mom has the quirk of attracting things, and his dad can make things hot. Therefore, Deku's quirk is attracting hot things.

I think the official name for that quirk is "Protagonist Syndrome." It gives you the ability to be shipped with everyone you interact with for more than five minutes and have it work.
