Tried playing that game, can't seem to get the cortex extractor to work. I assume I need more biomass but I have no idea how to get it.

You don't need any biomass, you need to get her stats below the thresholds. For the Starmap, that's Intelligence at 10 or lower, and Willpower at -10 or lower. You need to use the Brainwhasing machine for that.

Yeah I forgot to mention I did that already, didn't seem to change anything.

I think you're trying to extract the thing from a regular mob, they don't have the starmap. Only the captain has it, she's in a control room at the deep end of the level. To make sure: she should have a thing called "Starmap" in the Feature list in her stasis pod.

For instance, on the pic above the girl doesn't have the starmap, so you can't extract it from her.
