2A character is hypnotized into believing they are in a situation different from reality. This reality does not need to be abnormal. For example they can believe that they are having sex but they are just hand-holding. [h4]Related effects[/h4] These following tags might not be mutually exclusive to altered_perception and may overlap, but in general: * [[aware]] characters know what reality is, so no altered_perception has taken place. * [[unaware]] characters don't realize they are tranced. This is the closest tag to altered_perception. * [[corruption]] or corrupted characters know what reality is, but don't care. * mindlessly obedient characters can't even think what situation they are in. * [[altered_common_sense]] characters know what reality is, but treats any abnormal reality as normal. * [[memory_alteration]] [h4]See also[/h4] * [[illusion]] * [[exhibitionism]] * [[memory lapse]]

Version 2
1A character is hypnotized into having a perception that they wouldn't normally have. For a post to be tagged altered perception, it should be one of: * common sense alteration, where a character thinks some unusual situation like exposed clothing or sex in public is normal. * perception alteration, where a character think they are doing something normal while they are actually doing something unusual. The following by themselves do not qualify for this tag: * when that character is fully [[aware]], and so no altered perception has taken place. * when that character is fully [[unaware]], and they don't realize they are doing something unusual. * personality alteration / corruption, where that character's attitude to doing something unusual is altered. (which implies they are aware but don't care.) * mindless obedience, where that character can't even think if their actions are unusual. * memory alteration, where a character's memory are altered. h4.
