1A type of fox girl which has multiple (usually nine) tails, in reference to the mythical kitsune. The current policy on the line between kitsunes and foxes is vague. Current conventions are as follows: * Despite having two tails, Miles "Tails" Prower is not considered a kitsune, and he and things that allude clearly to him should not get this tag. This is because - although his original design is clearly inspired by kitsune - he lacks some standard hallmarks of kitsune, including the requirement of great age and wisdom to get a 2nd tail, and the ability to grow more tails with further age and wisdom. * Vulpix also does not currently get this tag, due to having a design very far from sandard depictions of kitsune. The Pokémon Ninetails does not appear on the site at the time of this writing, but likely would receive the tag because it much more closely follows the stereotypical depiction of kitsune. * In general, original characters that allude very strongly to standard depictions of kitsune (including: 5 or more tails, thin ears, sleek features, very bushy tails) might be considered kitsune, while foxes of other styles might be considered non-kitsune. The official canon for a character would also heavily influence this. h4. See also: * fox girl * animal ears * fake animal ears
