New to manipping - help?
Hello fellow members of hypnohub.

I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips, or come with some challenges and give me some feedback. I have tried manipping pictures before, but I don't really know what people want, and how to create a good manip. So wether you would like me to try to do something about your picture, and give me feedback on it, or if you would like to give a noob some advice, all help is and will be appreciated.

Thanks for your time, and have a great day!

Hey,
I'm a manipper. I'd like to know what kind of manips YOU want to make.

I personally preferred to make manips that were seamless to the naked eye. I made manips that you might not be able to tell were manips. You can search my manipper tag and look at my later work to see what I mean. I really love manipping and I would be glad to help you out. I mostly used Photoshop CS6 which is what I recommend. If you're not interested in risk you could try Gimp as but Photoshop is better, imo.

So yeah, tell me what kind of manips you like so I can help you out better.

Hi,
I personally use the free "GIMP"-Software. Allows good editing. As Lillytank said, Photoshop is better but since I usually don't draw I never switched.
I consider myself accetable to fine when it comes to eye-editing and have a bit perfectionism in that area.
If you have a question regarding this or GIMP feel free to ask. You can also write me a mail.

There are some image tutorials made by some of our members which you can refer to <<hypnohub.net/post?tags=how-to_guide+|here>>.

I recommend you post some examples of your manips here so others can see how they are/ask for critique as you will get more specialized advice that way. Think of how hard it is to tell someone how to draw (better) if you don't know how they draw =P

Hey LillyTank, i like your manips, and think they look great. I will be using a program similar to Photoshop (affinity photo/designer) and would be interested in doing all kinds of manips. I like your way of doing them a lot, so if you had some tips, or anything like that, that would be great!

Thanks for the tip. I had been using GIMP for a long time, but i never really managed to figure out the interface. Sounds stupid, i know. But ive begun using a program with some of the same capabilities (affinity photo), and i like it a lot! Thanks for the kindness though!

Of course, why didn't i think of that (>ლ)
Here's an example i tried making for a request in the "general manip" thread: chan.sankakucomplex.com/post/show/5798018 -> imgur.com/a/t4776 . I think eyes are an easy way to start, since that's a manip I could think of in my head. Thanks for your interest!

this is a copy and paste of some advice i gave to another user on maniping since ive been maniping for almost 5 years now i believe on how to make blank/ dull eyes:

i use more then one program because

1. i don't have photoshop
2. i find photoshop confusing to use at times

Here is are a couple of examples of blank/dull eyes that i've done in the past
hypnohub.net/post/show/42...ies-design_doll-empty_eye
hypnohub.net/post/show/40...ty_eyes-femsub-flame-haga
hypnohub.net/post/show/40...l-glowing_eyes-manip-ryuq

To make the eyes first you want you have the right face typically i like to use half open eyes with an open mouth because you have to have the right face to make a convincing manip. Once i have a good image to edit i open it in a program called Paint.net a free alternative to photoshop which i find easier to use. Next i create 2 new layers naming them color1 and color2.

Next using the color picker tool i select the darkest color in the characters eyes and the lightest color in the characters eyes. Then in color1 i completely color the eyes with the dark color. Then in color2 i color the bottom half of the eyes with the light color. Going over what i just colored in color1. Then i save it.

Next i open the newly saved image in paint tool Sai. I select the blur tool and blur the edges of where the light and dark colors meet. What you get is a blending effect of the two edges. The result is the links above. It's a simple effect to accomplish but i do it 2 programs but it can be done in one program depending on what program you use. Reason i like using Sai for just my blurring is because paint.net doesn't have a blurring tool.
